No system would be complete without some reporting tools.  To speed things up, I designed a simple adhoc reporting tool that would allow me to save and name queries I use routinely.  The form below lists some queries that are available to everyone.

Some of the queries I’ll present here are:

Players Registered Since Date Enhanced Detail – It started off as the simple list of names and contact information for the commissioners to put the teams together… and then it mutated to this massive list that get exported into excel.  It will allow you to show only those players added/updated since a date, so your not missing players during that last minute rush!

All Seasons Possible Coaches for Division – Another list for the league officials assigning a division. This will list all active coaches and those prior coaches who didn’t sign up this year.  It help with passing off information to new league official who may not know people to ask to help out if your short coaches.

Number of Players registered after this point last year – When you need to order uniforms and figure out how many players per team, isn’t it nice to have an idea of how many registrations you received after today?

Current Divisional Team Ranking Breakdown (The Game!) – The grand-daddy of all cross team comparisons…  I tried taking every piece of data I had and analyze it.  Number of players per rank, average new player rank, average returning player rank, it’s all there.

Team Roster’s – Actually located elsewhere.  It’s a simple report of teams, coaches, and their contact information.

Two other independent systems are the survey modules.  There is a survey for players who are not currently playing this year.  It basically goes by identifying players who are not playing this year but have played in the past.  There is another survey system for players who were active this year. There is an email component that will notify those individuals and it provides them with a link that will bring them to the survey form.

Membership Survey – This survey form is distributed to the active membership.  After data is compiled, there is a summary report that compiles the data.  It helps me to understand what is working, what is not working, and what is useless!

Non-Returning Survey – This is another survey for players who played in the past who are not playing this year.  This gets run every few years.  This is another report that can help a league identify areas that are working or need improvement.

These are just some of the things you can do.  In the past, I’ve develop queries to identify the “top 20″ players in the league to be invited to a travel tryout for a new team or adding to existing teams.  As a league, we have to provide a list of players and coaches to our parent organization in an excel template.  Some of our partner organization have mass mailing that we can provide our membership to for clinics, camps, and other opportunities.
